Every Day Free – But Never Cheap!
Exclusively for RapidWeaver users • only free and low-cost stuff

Another RapidWeaver blog

Yes, it's true: one more blog about our favorite web site building application for MacOSX. But this one is a little different. It started back in 2011 as a blog focusing solely on free and low-cost stuff for (producing a web site with) RapidWeaver: themes, tools, tips, tricks, anything, as long as it was free – or low-cost.
Over time, the Stacks plugin became more popular, and coding yourself was no longer an option for many people, so I started to develop my own stacks in the spirit of the blog: free (well, actually pay-what-you-want) and low-cost.
This blog evolved with it, and is now primarily about those new stacks, although from time to time I will post about other free and low-cost stuff for RapidWeaver.

Do you know something free (or low-cost) & useful related to RapidWeaver not mentioned here? Have a suggestion for a subject to write about here or for a new stack?
Tips, questions and remarks are always welcomed.

New #62 & 63: PhotoAlbumRedirect and LineBreakHeight Stacks

Today I introduce two small stacks that I made on suggestion of users of my stacks. Although they won’t set the world on fire, I’m sure they will be a nice addition to your stacks collection.

J. (obviously a RapidWeaver veteran) missed the function in the late RapidAlbum plugin to turn a RapidAlbum page into a set of images linking to other pages, creating a starting point to different Photo Album Galleries. I thought that was a great idea, so I developed the PhotoAlbumRedirect Stack to do just that in a Photo Album page.

This stack makes it possible to turn a Photo Album page into a set of images linking to other pages, optionally opening in a new window. Especially when combining this stack with the Photo Album Beautifier Stack, this opens a new realm of possibilities for the good ol’ Photo Album page: turn it into an overview of all your gallery pages , a portfolio,…

The LineBreakHeight Stack is a stack for those who want optimum control over the looks of their texts. A. was a little annoyed that there was no easy way in RapidWeaver to fine tune the whitespace between two pieces of text seperated with line breaks. Usualy the whitespace has the same height as every other line, which is rather coarse and (thus) not always aesthetically the best solution.

Here’s where the LineBreakHeight Stack comes in. This stack makes it possible to set the height of the whitespace exactly to your liking. Just use line breaks to separate the blocks of text, and set the height of each line break (as a percentage of the line height of the text).

More information and a demo on the product page.

Both stacks are pay-what-you-want, so you can decide yourself how much these stacks are worth to you. When you downloaded them for free and use them in a commercial project, a small donation will be appreciated.
