Every Day Free – But Never Cheap!
Exclusively for RapidWeaver users • only free and low-cost stuff

Another RapidWeaver blog

Yes, it's true: one more blog about our favorite web site building application for MacOS. But this one is a little different. It started back in 2011 as a blog focusing solely on free and low-cost stuff for (producing a web site with) RapidWeaver: themes, tools, tips, tricks, anything, as long as it was free – or low-cost.
Over time, the Stacks plugin became more popular, and coding yourself was no longer an option for many people, so I started to develop my own stacks in the spirit of the blog: free (well, actually pay-what-you-want) and low-cost.
This blog evolved with it, and is now primarily about those new stacks, although from time to time I will post about other free and low-cost stuff for RapidWeaver.

Do you know something free (or low-cost) & useful related to RapidWeaver not mentioned here? Have a suggestion for a subject to write about here or for a new stack?
Tips, questions and remarks are always welcomed.
Just and help expand this little blog!

New #38: SuperB & B Stack

#
Today I introduce a stack to customize borders and backgrounds. I know that sounds boring, because there are plenty of them out there already. Nevertheless I think this is not just-another-borders-and-backgrounds stack. The SuperB&B Stack allows you to style your backgrounds and borders like never before.

I receive a lot of suggestions for new options for my stacks, and I’m very happy with that. Suggestions are always welcome. By far the most requested feature was the option to set the width of the SmartColumns Stacks individually.

More options for some of the PA/Lightbox Stacks

#
I never introduced a stack before that triggered so many suggestions for more options than the PA/Lightbox Stacks. Thank you all, I love feedback! Most of your suggestions found their way into the stacks; a few of them need a little more puzzling. Here’s an overview of what’s new:

New #25-30: PA/Lightbox Stacks

#
When I started using RapidWeaver back in 2008, the Photo Album page was, well… acceptable, but not great. Over five years have passed since then and to be honest, I think the Photo Album page does not really look acceptable nowadays anymore. So, I decided to develop a series of stacks that make new or existing Photo Album pages look modern again: the PA/Lightbox Stacks.

New #23: RapidLorem Stack

Prototyping a new site and tired of manually copying and pasting Lorem ipsum dolor etc. over and over again? Tired of that boring Lorem ipsum dolor etc. anyway? Well, I was, so I decided to develop a stack to make this much easier – and less boring.

New #17: Progress Bar Stacks

#
Progress bars can be really helpful to visualize figures like the progress on an ‘under construction’ page, but they also great for comparing speed and other figures. The Progress Bar stack 1 and Progress Bar stack 2 give you an array of possibilities to create progress bars that will match seamlessly with the style of your site. Both stacks are fully responsive (optional) and make it possible to ‘slide in’ the progress bar on loading.

New #15: SmartColumns Stacks

#
Although there are several stack sets available to make columns, I recently ran into a situation where non of them really fitted my needs. I eventually coded the whole thing by hand, but it made me think if I could make a stack of it. The result: not one, but a set of three stacks: the Smart2Columns, Smart3Columns and (guess what) Smart4Columns stack.

Testing a new commenting system

#
Just a quick note to let you know I'm testing a new, and hopefully better commenting system.
As you may have noticed, I'm using the RapidBlog plugin for this blog. I’m really happy with it, but the Blogger commenting system I’ve been using so far, is disappointing to say the least: no threads, no comment editing, posting a comment opens an ugly popup…

Dropdown Menu Adventures
